Job Summary

Leading a group of two Accountants, this position oversees the general accounting function at UGI Energy Services which includes co-leading the monthly close process and the account reconciliation process for the company.  Key financial areas under the responsibility of this position are cash, debt, leases, operating expenses, and consolidation/internal reporting.

 

This is a hybrid role based out of UGI Energy Services in Wyomissing, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Month End Close process including:
    1. Review month end journal entries.
    2. Review financial statements (including internal and consolidated financial statements).
    3. Prepare/Review quarterly analytics (Balance Sheet and P&L).
    4. Review account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for SOX compliance (control design and review) for the above-mentioned processes as well as a key point of contact for internal and external audits.
  • Determine the ideal way to split the workload amongst the team, consistently monitoring and reprioritizing efforts to deliver maximum value.
  • Review internal financial reports used by management as well as inputs for SEC reporting.
  • Contribute to and lead various process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of GAAP including technical accounting principles.
  • Experience with SEC financial reporting and consolidation systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work across disciplines such as payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets and tax.  Ability to communicate with multiple persons throughout the company to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required. 
  • At least 5 years of experience.
  • CPA Preferred.
  • Desirable – Public Accounting Experience.
