Summary:
We are seeking a Developer Advocate to join our Developer Relations team. This role is designed for a unique individual with a blend of engineering prowess and a passion for creating high-quality technical content. You will be instrumental in shaping our developer outreach efforts, creating impactful content, and fostering a vibrant community around our platform.
Your primary mission will be to bridge the gap between the complex world of distributed systems development and the solutions offered by Durable Execution and Temporal. Your work will focus on creating content that will help developers who actively search for answers to the challenges solved by our platform. You will be pivotal in boosting awareness and adoption of Temporal by creating compelling, informative, technical content that developers worldwide will be delighted to discover.
What you will do:
- Produce high-quality, technical content targeted at developers facing challenges in resilience, distributed systems, service orchestration, and beyond. Your content will range from blog posts, tutorials, guides, and diagrams to videos, directly addressing developers' pain points and queries.
- Use data to inform our content efforts, helping evaluate what’s working well and iterating as we learn.
- Collaborate with engineering and marketing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality content and messaging.
- Engage with the developer community through forums, social media, and events, acting as Temporal.io's face and voice.
- Help gather feedback for product and engineering teams based on community interactions, helping to influence product development and developer experience.
What you will bring:
- Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong understanding of distributed systems, state management, and workflow execution.
- Empathy for the problems faced by developers and motivated by helping others succeed.
- Familiarity with SEO, content strategy, and analytics tools to measure content effectiveness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with a technical audience.
- Self-motivated, with a creative and analytical mindset.
- Experience in a developer advocate or relations role, building and engaging developer communities is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets.
