Summary

The Strategist Technical Events, Senior will collaborate with various internal teams, external vendors and clients to plan and oversee execution of all technical support requests for SRP-sanctioned meetings and events. They will serve as the onsite audiovisual point person and technical coordinator for all in-house and external venues associated with event requests with audience sizes ranging from 20 – 1200 attendees.

What You'll Do

  • Technical design of the event or meeting including equipment setup and operation, lighting placement, video camera operation and switching, scenic element design and rigging, signal path, front and rear projection, and audio systems 
  • Work independently to plan and manage the technical design and operation of event 
  • Responsible for the management setup and strike of equipment for meetings and event 
  • Manage and delegating tasks to other employees working on the project team 
  • Hire contractors as needed for each event 
  • Manage and track project budgets 
  • Timely and accurate billing and invoicing
  • Ensure schedules, budget goals and production standards are met
  • Confidently and quickly analyze problems using diagnostic skill sets to effectively support and resolve issues related to hardware and software
  • Develop relationships with and retain vendors and outside technical support for high-profile events including live-streamed content
  • Work with clients and business partners to ensure presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote) and video playback interconnectivity using PC and Mac computers
  • Research and purchase related equipment and software including audio systems, video display technologies, teleconferencing, AV signal management, and integrated controls
  • Interact regularly with government agencies, political groups, trade organizations, customers, outside strategic partners and others.
  • Maintain high visibility within assigned location
  • Stay current with latest technology trends and incorporate new technologies into planning
  • Train team members and business partners on technology and equipment use
  • Other duties as assigned

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Familiarity with video cameras, microphones, teleprompters, lights, rigging requirements and sound mixers to ensure the highest quality presentations
  • The successful candidate must be self-sufficient, resourceful
  • Ability to estimate production budgets for all equipment, labor, vendor costs, materials and venue fees
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work varied and changing schedule (nights, weekends, early mornings included)
  • Excellent computer/IT skills
