What to Expect?

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, prioritization, and execution of maintenance activities that keep Suncoast Chemicals’ production equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The primary responsibility of this role is to support production by assigning maintenance resources, responding to breakdowns, executing preventive maintenance, and following up to ensure repairs and work orders are completed correctly and with urgency.

This position is a hands-on leadership role that works directly with mechanics, production supervisors, production leads, machine operators, and Operations leadership. The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to reduce downtime, improve equipment uptime, strengthen preventive maintenance execution, support equipment improvements, and build a maintenance culture focused on safety, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

On a daily basis our Production Maintenance Manager:

  • Leads daily maintenance priorities to support safe, efficient production.

  • Assigns, delegates, and follows up on repairs, PMs, service requests, setups, rebuilds, and projects.

  • Responds quickly to downtime and equipment issues to ensure safe, timely repairs.

  • Use e-Maintenance to manage work orders, PMs, equipment history, parts, tracking, and costs.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, VFD, sensor, controls, and minor PLC-related issues.

  • Works with production teams to improve reliability, setups, changeovers, startups, and shutdowns.

  • Provides direction, coaching, feedback, training support, and accountability to maintenance associates.

  • Supports staffing needs, including hiring, onboarding, evaluations, development, shift coverage, overtime, weekends, breakdowns, and PTO coverage.

  • Partners with leadership on installations, rebuilds, modifications, layouts, improvement projects, root cause fixes, and PM improvements. .

  • Identifies root causes of recurring equipment failures and support corrective actions that reduce downtime and prevent repeat issues.

  • Reviews PM effectiveness and recommend improvements to PM tasks, frequencies, standards, spare parts, and maintenance procedures.

  • Maintains clean, safe work areas while enforcing safety policies, LOTO, PPE, facility standards, and supporting safety, quality, efficiency, and operational goals.

  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Operations leadership.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, trade certification, or related training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, packaging, filling, chemical, or similar production environment.

  • Prior experience as a maintenance lead, senior mechanic, or maintenance supervisor preferred.

  • Strong understanding of production maintenance, packaging equipment, filling equipment, machine setups, troubleshooting, and repair execution.

  • Ability to make timely decisions, prioritize work, communicate clearly, and execute maintenance priorities through completion.
