Role Overview:
This role is to provide a hybrid of high level ergonomic and safety support to Apex’s valued clients across the nation. The incumbent will routinely travel across the country to our clients’ sites in order to and provide them with their requested support needs. Projects will range from ergonomic/ safety compliance reviews, assessments, audits as well as providing quality deliverables in a timely manner. Perhaps most importantly, the incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results within budget and timeframe.
Your Responsibilities as a Sr Ergonomics Consultant:
- Provides comprehensive ergonomics consulting services to clients. The primary focus area is Industrial / Shop Floor Ergonomics – but Office Ergonomics skills are also required.
- In collaboration with overall client relationship managers, coordinates and executes the implementation of multiple and/or complex client projects within set organizational procedures and standards.
- Leads and directs the work of others as needed as well as the opportunity to mentor junior internal Apex staff.
- In close routine collaboration with the external customer, designs, implements and executes an agreed-to service plan. Monitors and reports progress on plan completion as directed. Works with numerous internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity.
- Acts as a senior advisor to the customer on ergonomics issues.
- Works closely with the overall client relationship manager to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provides clients with customized reports/deliverables.
Your Responsibilities as an Apex Occupational Safety Professional:
- Providing comprehensive occupational safety and health consulting services to clients, including:
- Conducting reviews of existing safety and health programs - from either a regulatory compliance perspective, or an effectiveness-in-action perspective
- Conducting shop floor observations focused on identifying, assessing and risk-ranking employee exposures to injury
- Devising solution options aimed at mitigating employee injury exposures
- Providing clients with hands-on assistance with implementation of chosen solutions
- Monitoring the effectiveness of solutions implemented. Have they stood the test of time?
- Tracking and analyzing clients’ employee injury experience, looking for trends, common themes, and potential high leverage accident prevention activities
- In collaboration with Apex project managers, coordinates and executes industrial safety projects within set organizational procedures and standards.
- In close routine collaboration with the external customer, designs, implements and executes an agreed-to service plan. Monitors and reports progress on plan completion as directed. Works with numerous internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity.
- Acts as an advisor to the customer on occupational safety issues.
- Provides input to project managers, client relationship managers, or business development staff on potential new EHS projects. Participates in business development activities as directed.

What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree required – preferably, in a science or engineering field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience required, working in the occupational safety and ergonomic fields, a plus if there incumbent has Industrial Hygiene experience.
