Job Description Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for using their knowledge of software programs and business acumen to provide detailed analysis to complex business problems. This individual will anticipate business needs and develop solutions to improve processes and functionality for our business. This individual will also provide end user support for applications and their interfaces.

Job Description

  • Lead in designing, documenting and evaluating information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance
  • Leads requirements gathering sessions and requirements review sessions with business stakeholders and technical development team based on an understanding of both business processes and current/proposed system functionality. Ensures that project requirements are gathered, documented, approved and managed. 
  • Translates business needs into a high-level functional design and technical requirements of the system; documents the design in the form of user stories and / or use cases; defining solution acceptance criteria that supports the requirements. 
  • Drives opportunities to improve the design and usability of the current system thru the analysis of requirements, end user workflows, and technical specifications. 
  • Provides low-fidelity mock-ups / wireframe designs of functional requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on suite of solutions across multiple business areas. 
  • Ensure that functional and technical requirements are understood, approved and managed throughout the project life cycle, including traceability to the test plans that validate them. Assists with system testing as needed. 
  • Drives regular demonstrations to both IT and business stakeholders. Provides subject matter expertise on given solutions.
  • Research and solve technical problems of complex scope based on an in depth understanding of systems and systems functionality.  Engages vendors as needed, executing timely follow-ups and driving vendor accountability. 
  • Assists the IT testing team with planning and coordination of user acceptance with stakeholders. Works closely with the IT testing team to ensure a smooth testing process. Provides input to the IT testing team on various testing scenarios and test data preparations.
  • Works closely with IT Testing team to ensure a smooth testing process.  Reviews test cases that are planned and executed. May be accountable for root cause analysis of defects found during testing
  • Drives future solution strategies collaborating with Enterprise Architecture
  • Provides guidance to user community on best utilization of solutions to meet their needs. Makes recommendations regarding how to use technology to accomplish business goals
  • Coordinates and facilitates across multiple business units and technology teams on complex solutions.
  • Performs feasibility analysis based on an understanding of proposed functionality
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Creates and Maintains application and system documentation.  
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with external partners and across various levels within the organization. 
  • Performs as a lead over community of practice groups to collaborate on strategy, standards, and areas for improvement.
  • Mentors and coaches less experienced employees in similar roles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in business administration, computer science, information systems or a related academic field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
