Abrigo is seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in .NET, AWS Cloud Native environments, API development, and expertise in services such as AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions. This role will be pivotal in leading technical initiatives, driving innovation, and setting architectural standards for our platform.

Applicants may choose to work remotely,or be office-based in Raleigh, NCor Austin, TX. 

What You’ll Do:

  • AWS Services: Utilize and integrate AWS services including Lambda for serverless computing, Step Functions for serverless workflows, and other AWS services relevant to our platform.
  • Technical Leadership: Drive the architectural vision and implementation of our software solutions, ensuring that technologies align with the overall business objectives. Setting the standard for software development practices within the team.
  • Development: Design, develop, and optimize applications using .NET, with an emphasis on cloud-native solutions in AWS. Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions using C#, AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • API Design & Implementation: Develop robust and scalable APIs to ensure seamless data exchange and integration with other services.
  • Best Practices: Advocate for and implement best coding and architectural practices, ensuring that the team produces high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, software developers, and other stakeholders to deliver product features and improvements while leading backlog refinement sessions to prioritize features and technical debt.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior to mid-level engineers, providing technical leadership and promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation while conducting code reviews to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Research: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the .NET and AWS ecosystems, making recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
  • Travel: Up to 20% travel as needed.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience 
  • 8 + years of experience in software development with significant experience in .NET technologies.
  • Proven expertise with AWS Cloud Native services and architectures.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing APIs.
  • Strong understanding of modern software design principles, patterns, and best practices. 
  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies. 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Certifications in AWS or relevant .NET qualifications. 
  • Previous experience in the FinTech sector. 
  • Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks. 
  • Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
