Laboratory Technician (Nephrology and kidney transplantation)

<p>VHIR offers a vacant position for a Laboratory Technician with experience in Translational Research in Immunology for the Nephrology and Transplantation Research Group.</p><p><strong><br/></strong></p><p><strong>Education and qualifications:</strong></p><h6><strong>Required:</strong></h6><ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology</li> <li>Master’s in Translational Research</li> <li>Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level)</li> <li>Accreditation to handle experimental animals </li> </ul><em><br/></em><h6><strong>Desired:</strong></h6><ul> <li>Specific training in Transplant Immunology</li> <li>Courses in statistics and data analysis</li> </ul><em><br/></em><h5><strong><br/></strong></h5><h5><strong>Experience and knowledge:</strong></h5><h6><strong>Required:</strong></h6><ul> <li>At least 5 years of experience working in the field of Transplant Immunology research</li> <li>Previous experience in immunofluorescence, basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, etc.) and cell cultures</li> <li>Previous experience in immune monitoring assays such as T-cell and B-cell ELISPOT assay</li> <li>Expertise in flow cytometry</li> <li>Lab management skills (analytical, organisational and time management skills)</li> <li>Experience in project coordination within research groups</li> <li>Contribution to scientific publications and conference abstracts </li> </ul><br/><h6><strong>Desired:</strong></h6><ul> <li>Computer skills for creating databases</li> <li>Previous knowledge in bioinformatics and specific analysis programs (OMIQ, SPSS, Prism, etc.)</li> <li>Good skills in scientific dissemination</li> <li>We are looking for a person with a proven hands-on attitude, who is flexible and adaptable. Additionally, the following personal skills are desirable:<ul> <li>Teamwork</li> <li>Proactivity</li> <li>Well-organized and responsible person at work</li> </ul></li> </ul><br/><p> </p><h5><strong>Main responsibilities and duties:</strong></h5><ul> <li>Perform and analyze immune monitoring assays (ELISPOT).</li> <li>Perform and analyze flow cytometry experiments, including multicolor panels for immune profiling.</li> <li>Perform and analyze immunofluorescence assays.</li> <li>Isolation and culture of primary cells (PBMCs, splenocytes, etc.).</li> <li>Coordinate with clinicians and research staff for collection and handling of clinical samples.</li> <li>Participate in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and updating laboratory protocols.</li> <li>Contribute to data analysis and interpretation of results for internal reports, grant applications and scientific publications.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of presentations for group meetings, conferences and dissemination activities.</li> <li>Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, stock of reagents and consumables, ensuring proper functionality and supply.</li> <li>Generate and manage sample databases. </li> </ul><br/><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Labour conditions:</strong></p><ul> <li>Full-time position: 40h/week</li> <li>Starting date: immediate</li> <li>Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.
