About the role

We're Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining technology and one of the world's fastest-growing SaaS firms. We believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock productivity by placing data and intelligence at the core of business processes - and for that, we need you to join us.

The Team:

Celonis Product Experience is part of the Product and Engineering organization. We are a group of passionate product design enthusiasts dedicated to pushing boundaries to create high quality, innovative, and engaging experiences. We thrive on solving complex business problems, working at the intersection of product design, business, engineering–and most importantly, our users. It is our mission to design and deliver world-class enterprise software experiences and empower our customers to transform their business processes with the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform.

The Role:

As a Staff Product Designer for Orchestration & Automation, you will shape the experience of products that empower our users to act on process improvement opportunities uncovered with Celonis.  This team provides capabilities to automate and orchestrate business tasks and processes to improve efficiency and directly drive value for our customers. You will work alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Designers and Researchers to craft intuitive and delightful user experiences. Your role is pivotal in understanding and translating our customers' needs into effective automation and orchestration solutions.

The work you’ll do:

As a Staff Product Designer, you are both a problem solver and a skilled interaction designer. You closely collaborate with your cross-functional partners to deeply explore problem spaces, understand the needs of our customers, and create best possible solutions. You think about product strategy, define the UX and UI requirements, transform them into beautiful designs and prototypes, and partner with engineers to bring the solutions to life for our users. In some cases, you may act as a team lead and provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced designers.

In this role, you will own the user experience of a key product area for process automation. You will establish a deep understanding of user needs and translate them into intuitive product designs that enable our customers to implement actions, automations, and orchestrations with ease. In crafting these designs, you will work with our custom design system in Figma, both as a consumer and contributor. You are proactive in uncovering pain points, ideating solutions, and improving the overall design maturity of your area.

Together with your cross-functional team, you will work with cutting-edge technologies and AI to bring innovation and efficiency to our customers. Your ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers and Engineering partners on intricate topics will be key to your success in this role.

The qualifications you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Design, Communication Design, Engineering, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, collaborating within software development teams.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding other designers.
  • In-depth knowledge of interaction design, usability engineering, testing methodologies, and gestalt principles, with the ability to effectively communicate how these factors impact design decisions.
  • Comfortable driving clarity in ambiguous situations and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in applying usability principles and techniques through various stages of product development including requirements gathering, user journey mapping, creating lo-fi and hi-fi wireframes, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
  • Experience working with and contributing to Design Systems in Figma.
  • Strong empathy for users, a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and excellent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for user-centered design within and across teams to improve product usability.
