Job Summary:
Manages all accounting activities for a portfolio of properties, including budgeting, account management, cash management, and reconciliation analysis. Ensures all work follows standard property and development accounting procedures. This is a remote/ hybrid position that reports to the Assistant Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting – Review and analyze general ledger accounts. Prepare month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including reconciliations and Excel-based schedules. Support audited financial statement preparation.
Banking & Cash Management – Reconcile bank accounts and loan statements. Monitor cash accounts, loan activity, job costs, and contingency usage. Assess cash availability using online banking systems.
Journal Entries & Transactions – Record journal entries for accruals, adjustments, banking transactions, contributions, and distributions. Handle property acquisitions/dispositions, including cost write-offs and proration calculations.
Draws & Job Costing – Prepare funding requests and reconcile job cost reports to trial balances and draw schedules. Collect and follow up on Conditional/Unconditional Lien Waivers from contractors.
Fee & Depreciation Calculations – Calculate management, developer, and construction fees. Track distributions, contributions, and preferred returns. Prepare GAAP and tax-based depreciation and amortization schedules; reconcile fixed asset accounts.
Accounts Payable – Review and approve AP invoices. Process monthly debt service payments.
Compliance & Accuracy – Identify inappropriate coding or account activity. Understand and apply cash, accrual, and GAAP-based accounting standards.

Additional Compensation:
Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range, including business requirements, prior experience, current skills, and geographical location.
In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in a bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
