Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
This role is responsible for the supervision of all clinical staff within assigned occupational health and/or employer service operations. They maintain clinical oversight according to both the organization and clients policies and procedures, professional standards, federal regulations, and CDC recommendations. 
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages daily operations for dynamic occupational health clinic(s) in the system

  • Partners and maintains a professional relationship with client companies’ stakeholders

  • Reviews and develops clinical policy and procedure in coordination with the Medical Director. Meets with Medical Director, staff physicians, and leadership

  • Maintains a practice environment where physician and/or patient concerns are effectively addressed

  • Provides input and assists with implementation of clinical and non-clinical quality assurance activities

  • Implements high customer service standards, best practice models, and patient resolution

  • Ensures that company surveillance programs are managed and that they are in compliance with OSHA regulatory standards

  • Ensures clinical compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), OSHA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Point of Care, Health Department, etc.

  • Assures completion of system required safety and competency measures for staff

  • Manages employees’ compliance with all mandatory requirements and verifying that all licensed professionals are current with certifications, competencies, credentials, and Continuing Education Unit (CEU’s)

  • Interviews staff candidates with practice manager participates in hiring decisions

  • Provides input and assists with implementation of clinical and non-clinical quality assurance activities

  • Partners with Human Resources to resolve Employee Relations issues and is responsible for ensuring clinical orientation of new employees and reviewing yearly clinical competency.

Certified Occupational Health Nurse (preferred)

Education
Associates Degree in Nursing (required)
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)

Work Experience
3 years of occupational health nursing (required)
