Description of Duties:

The Mission Security Specialist supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

·       Assists with maintaining, securing, issuing and ensuring accountability for visitor restricted area badges in support of site access duties and distinguished visitor (DV) events.

·       Conducts security briefings to required personnel regarding visiting and escorting MDA facilities.

·       Ensures construction and maintenance personnel are properly badged, are briefed on security standards and are monitored within the restricted area for conformance with all applicable security policies and regulations.

·       Issues Land Mobile Radio (LMR) units and base stations to authorized personnel.

·       Assist staff personnel with plans, programs, and implementation of activities which may include security, logistics, visitor control, protocol events, scheduling, and test support. 

·       Provides alternate convoy commander duties associated with transportation of assets.

·       Assists customer with maintaining security databases, tracking escort training and access lists to secured rooms, security containers within the facility and photographic device permits.

The successful candidate will:

·       Have excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with individuals, providing directions, and reporting incidents.

·       Be able to write clear, concise, and accurate reports of incidents or observations.
