Job Description:

Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is seeking a Workday Security Administrator to join our collaborative and service-oriented team. This position will report directly to the Manager of Workday Security Administration and plays a vital role in supporting and optimizing Workday business needs through effective security administration.

The Workday Security Administrator will work closely with fellow Workday Security team members and functional units across the university, including HR, Finance, Payroll, and Enrollment Services, to maintain and improve the security framework supporting Workday operations. This position will engage in both routine operational support and project-based work, helping to ensure the continuity and integrity of ISU business needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical capabilities, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and excellent collaboration skills. This individual should thrive in a dynamic environment and be committed to delivering outstanding service and driving positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address operational support requests and troubleshoot Workday security issues

  • Collaborate with ITS and functional units to align security with business needs

  • Support and contribute to HR, Finance, Payroll, and Enrollment Services security projects

  • Maintain and update security roles, domains/Business Process Security policies and access within Workday

  • Ensure compliance with policies and best practices for system security

  • Document security processes and support internal audits and reviews

  • Monitor access and implement improvements to strengthen Workday security
