Description

The On-Call Guest Room Cleaner for DTS Housing plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, prospective residents, staff, faculty, and other guests who stay in our Campus Housing Guest Rooms. The ideal candidate is flexible, self-motivated, and committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hospitality. Ā  Duties/Responsibilities:Ā 
  • Clean guest rooms, including beds, bathrooms, and common areas, according to established standards.
  • Replenish guest room supplies, such as toiletries, towels, and linens.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Respond promptly to on-call requests for cleaning services, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Inspect rooms for damages or maintenance needs and report findings to the appropriate department.
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and staff.
  • Collaborates with other Housing team members to ensure an incomparable customer experience
  • Other duties as assigned
Commitments Unique to the Position:Ā 
  • Must select a course schedule that is conducive to the requirements of the role (approved by Supervisor)Ā 
  • Work weekends as needed

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent time management skills to stay on schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to keep track of room reservation
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
Education and Experience:
  • High School Degree preferred
  • Prefer candidates who demonstrates reliability and attention to detail
  • Prefer candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude and work independently
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Ability to use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or craw
  • Ability to climb or balance
