Quality Assurance Supervisor - Ascent

Within our Denver corporate headquarters, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to enhance our organization’s commitment to producing and delivering outstanding nutritional products. Ascent is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leprino Foods Company, the world’s largest producer of mozzarella cheese.
At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $84,700 and $101,500. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%.
- Build and implement quality policies, specifications, and testing protocols for ingredients, packaging, and finished products.
- Lead the management and maintenance of product certifications, such as Gluten-Free and Banned Substances.
- Address customer complaints by leading investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive actions.
- Collaborate with vendors and plant teams to resolve ingredient or packaging nonconformance issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure system release of materials and finished products upon receipt of Certificates of Analysis.
- Review and approve vendor documentation via TraceGains , including allergen assessments and regulatory compliance, to maintain high standards of supplier assurance.
- Support vendor audits, recommend approvals, and monitor ongoing performance to ensure compliance with established expectations.
- Partner with co-manufacturers to troubleshoot plant quality deficiencies and recommend solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Lead training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and prevent problems before they happen.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and support strategic initiatives effectively.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
- A bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, or quality assurance within the dairy industry with a bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a master’s degree.
- Experience in a moderately complex laboratory or food production environment.
- The ability to work a weekly 3/2 (office/home) hybrid schedule.
- The ability to travel up to 30%.
