The Senior Director of Indirect Procurement Business Partner will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s non-traditional procurement strategy to drive cost efficiencies and savings globally. The right candidate will be a strong negotiator across all categories in indirect procurement while also being experienced at influencing executive-level and c-suite stakeholders. Additionally, this leader must be experienced in setting direction and implementing initiatives in a fast-paced, start-up environment that prioritizes speed and efficiency over conventional processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Partnering: Act as the primary procurement advisor to senior business leaders up to C-Suite level, understanding their needs and aligning procurement strategies to support business objectives. Serve as a thought leader for procurement, developing and executing an innovative procurement strategy that aligns with broader organizational goals and mindset.
- Cost Mitigation: Proactively identify cost savings initiatives, building a pipeline of opportunities with business leaders to drive both immediate and long-term savings
- Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions and pricing; and partner with business leaders to support contract management and supplier negotiations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to influence demand, manage expectations, and ensure procurement delivers measurable value.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with other functions (Finance, Legal, Compliance) on improving E2E procurement function for efficiency and clarity
- Sourcing Strategy: Elevate our strategic sourcing through competitive sourcing, cost and contract management ultimately delivering significant year over year cost savings
- Proactive Sourcing: Create proactive sourcing plans by working closely with functional groups to understand their long-term needs and incorporate those insights into your sourcing operational strategy. Develop comprehensive category database to drive long-term strategic plan towards improved supplier performance management and tracking KPIs.
Experience & Qualifications Required
To be successful in this role, you will think strategically, demonstrate exceptional contracting, negotiation, and communication skills, and lead with a hands-on approach while partnering with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role has a history of solving complex problems, developing and building new solutions, and delivering results. The ability to influence stakeholders and effectively communicate with executives in order to earn a role as a trusted advisor is essential to the role.
Ideally, this leader will bring:
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier management with a proven track record of success in driving cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency at a senior leadership level.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related area of Supply Chain, Finance or Business Management preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience influencing senior leaders on procurement strategies and negotiations. Comfortable influencing without direct authority, acting as a strategic procurement business partner.
