The logistics function PS&L within Procurement & Supply Chain is responsible for making sure spare parts and accessories are available for customers world-wide to enable a hassle-free consumer experience. The responsibility covers the procurement, storage and distribution of spare parts and accessories to Volvo Cars customers globally and includes operational control of all Volvo-owned parts inventory, warehouse management and transportation as well as the long-term development of the global logistics process. </p>

Central Engineering at PS&L drives operational development and improvement projects within Warehouse operations globally to improve efficiency, productivity and quality in line with our strategy. We also develop packaging solutions fit for our entire supply chain, with key focus on quality, standardization, cost efficiency and circularity.</p>

What you’ll do<br/>
</p>
<p>We are now seeking a committed and passionate person who wants to join our Warehouse Engineering team within Central Engineering. We are currently evolving towards a more data driven business, and to become truly successful in the job you will need to possess an understanding of both how to achieve and maintain flow efficiency within warehouse operations, as well as data analytics with associated visualizations and KPIs.</p>
<p>Tasks will / may include the following elements<br/>
• Creation of operations- and equipment blueprints for maximized flow efficiency<br/>
• Analysis of flow data and visualization<br/>
• Partnering with external service / IT providers for digital tool development<br/>
• Warehouse auditing and follow-up for performance development purposes<br/>
• Shopfloor project management of initiatives linked to improvements in processes, storage, layout, tooling and equipment. Planning, execution and project cost follow up<br/>
• Evaluate and define new technology required for efficiency improvements, such as new equipment, digital tools and other solutions <br/>
• Lead and/or create technical requirements specifications for RFQs / sourcing purposes, including investment preparations<br/>
• Standardization and global process development</p>

What you’ll bring <br/>
</p>
<p>Competence and experience are important, but personality and mindset are key! We are looking for a person with good communicative skills where structure and collaboration is vital. You are a good team worker, and you can challenge current conditions and ways of working in a positive manner, having the goal of improving our process performance in mind. You are interested in both people and technology, where ability to create involvement and engagement as well as being analytical and process oriented is key. You have knowledge of Lean principles and understand the value of flow efficiency. Taking ownership and responsibility is natural for you. <br/>
You can expect around 15-30 days of travel per year.<br/>
You have a University degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Mechanical engineering and/or minimum 3-5 years’ experience within logistics development. Prior experience from retail logistics outside Volvo Cars is a merit, so are basic skills in logistics automation and AutoCad or similar design applications.</p>
