To advance the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, this position will provide leadership to International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) relationships and overall leadership, vision, and management for InterVarsity Link, Global Programs, Global Urban Trek, and Study Abroad initiatives. This includes the mobilization of students towards mission programs, staff towards service with the IFES, and regions towards IFES twinning relationships around the world.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Spiritual Growth: 

• Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world 

• Pursue a vibrant relationship with the triune God through engagement with Scripture, prayer, and worship, both individually and in community 
 

• Exercise self-leadership (growing in self-awareness, self-management, relational integrity, and resiliency) 

• Embrace and practice Scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes, including those described in the Code of Conduct 

• Be a lifelong learner who prizes the discipleship of the mind 

 

Ministry Leadership: 

• Develop and communicate vision and strategies, in partnership with FLT supervisor, for this global ministry focus 

• Develop opportunities for IVCF/USA staff to serve overseas with InterVarsity Link and for students and staff to engage in Global Programs, Global Urban Trek, and Study Abroad  

• Build an effective leadership team by facilitating strong collaboration, championing the understanding of organizational interdependencies, and fostering strategic decision making throughout the organization 

• Organize structures, roles, processes, and accountability loops to optimize resources and achieve goals, expecting direct reports to focus on organizational efficiencies 

• Oversee the employee life cycle of new Link staff, paying specific attention to recruitment, staff member care, and to help staff finish well and be prepared for next steps after their appointments conclude, whether staff return to IVCF/USA positions, retire, or pursue other callings 

• Understand and interpret current global issues and missions issues to ensure effectiveness of ministry and deployment of resources, as well as safety and care of staff 

• Articulate clearly and broadly the vision and biblical basis of missions within InterVarsity 

• Develop and implement biblical missiology and practices for department staff and partnerships contributing to IVCF/USA’s vision to develop world changers 

• Model mature leadership and team membership 

 

Organizational Leadership: 

• Serve as primary liaison with IFES, developing strong, trusting, interdependent relationships with international, regional, and national leaders
