This is a General Labor position in our Production Department.  A General Laborer will complete a variety of tasks depending on department including clean up of product using hand and power tools and meeting the required quality standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and finish product using hand tools and/or power tools according to specifications
• Rig/hang parts using wire to prep for galvanizing
• Train as a sweeper at the kettle
• Complete paperwork
• Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, hold, grasp for various amounts of time
• Must be willing to work in a hot, cold or rainy environment
• Must wear full PPE at all times while on the floor – steel or composite toe boots w/ sewn attached or built in met guards, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, work pants/jeans, long sleeve shirt, high viz vest.
• Work safely, protecting self and others from accident and injury

Required Qualifications

• The ability to use hand tools and power tools including (nail gun/chop saw)
• The ability to take online training and complete paperwork as needed
• The ability to work outside in a hot/cold type environment according to season
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• The ability to calculate simple mathematics and accurately read a tape measure
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• The ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess: 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience operating large forklift or overhead crane
• Experience in an industrial production type environment
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• The ability to establish priorities and reorder priorities when necessary
• The ability to inspect, spot, and report damage to maintain a quality product
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs,
• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, stoop, push, pull, reach, grasp, hold and carry for various periods of time
• Able to wear required PPE at all times:  Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, reflective vest, long sleeves, long pants, steel toed boots with built in met guards, face shield and additional PPE as needed according to area. (Clothing and boots not provided by company)
