Team Lead Dangerous Goods Services

Introduction to the job

The Chemical Support team, part of the Service Lab Technical Support department, plays a key role in handling Dangerous Goods and offering Value Added Services. The services are provided to a wide range of different customers (and contractors) like SL, HNA, LO, EF, TF, Demo, D&E, BIC, Delft, buildings 21, 17, 30 and future buildings like building 10…it even stretches out globally with deliveries (shared sourcing) to our Taiwanese and Korean colleagues. 

Role and responsibilities

The Chemical Support team is an experienced team that consists out of 8 FTE working in Support Roster. As a People Lead, you drive the team taking the challenge to further streamline/expand this ASML business critical, one-stop shop for Dangerous Goods, which includes the following activities:

• Receiving & Shipping: in close collaboration with the Technical Buyers, Chemical Forecasting and Product Planning, chemicals (12NC) are received from Farmusol, stored and when requested shipped to different locations in the Netherlands and beyond.

• Storage & Deliveries: together with CRE (owner) and Air Liquide (maintenance partner) the team takes ownership of the different Chemical Vaults, incl. ATEX conditions, located on the Veldhoven campus. From these locations chemicals are distributed automatically by a Chemical Delivery System or delivered to the requestor, for example by placing it in conditioned sublocations that are located in different Gray rooms. Next to these chemicals the team also takes care of Nitrogen storage in close collaboration with Linde. 

• Waste & Scrap management: together with Sourcing, different waste streams are maintained with parties like Remondis, Osram, Ushio and Covra. These waste streams are not limited to chemicals only but includes for example also the disposal of Radioactive (Thorium) contaminated materials, high pressure (Mercury) lamps and many more exotic requests passing by every day.

Additionally the scope of the team is growing rapidly providing a wide range of Value Added Services to the whole of ASML:

• Sprinter service: crucial part of the inbound & outbound express logistics process for example for valuable IMEC wafers & reticles used in the HNA lab.

• Solvent refilling: filling chemical bottles and other carriers for Cleanroom Services (supporting the Factory milk run), D&E and Desk 9.

• Dry shippers: filling N2 vessels, supporting Cleanroom Logistics.

• Customer & supplier materials: taking care of the logistics for customers and supplier materials like HNA chemicals, Trumpf emergency kits and TEL track filters within the ASML premises.

• Consumables + Chemical PPE: (critical) stock management and deliveries are taken care of for various requestors like SL and HNA, supplying them with gas masks, filters, ….

All these warehouse activities are managed using different software applications like:

• CST (Chemical Support Tool), SLeiPnir

• SAP, both EWM and ECC (migrating to S4/HANA), with work instructions rolled out together with the MF Operational Excellence team

• EasyBuy

• 3EProtect, managing chemical compliancy (within D&E)

All team members take care of both Operational activities and Engineering tasks (Control Tower, First Line Support, Escalation Management and Project Management). Together with SL Safety & Quality the work processes and the environment is audited periodically by Special Cargo Services (transport) and BSI (ISO).

As a Team Lead you will operate in day shift and report directly to the Line Manager of the Service Lab - Technical Support organization.

Education and experience

• BSc, MSc degree

• Preferably 10 to 15 years ASML Logistics Operations experience;

• Experience as a people manager;

• Experience with SAP/WMS administrative systems;

• Experience with project management;

• Knowledge of safe handling / disposal (waste stream management) of Dangerous Goods;.
