Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists supervisor with research projects and preparation of complex reports and documents.
  • Maintains financial files, records and databases. Manages pre and post award research grant portfolio. Enter information from source documents into databases and/or spreadsheets, compiling, printing and distributing financial reports.
  • Monitors and maintains laboratory equipment and supply inventory. Receives and reconciles supply orders and invoices, identifying and resolving delays, billing errors or discrepancies. Communicate with hospital support service departments to request needed services.
  • Prepares, routes, and tracks routine administrative forms and documents.
  • Assist with planning specific research procedures and develop skills in data analysis that includes using the R platform for analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic databases. Develop and troubleshoot techniques for transcriptomic analysis specific to the lab. Maintains accurate records of results and methodologies into a log of work performed. Compile and help analyze data, prepare charts, graphs, and results of studies.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and delegates work assignments and monitors performance, providing feedback and guidance as needed. Serves as a resource on departmental policies and procedures and aids in resolving administrative issues. Trains and orients new personnel.
  • Transcribes and types correspondence, forms, reports, manuscripts, and other materials involving complex scientific, technical, and/or specialized. Prepares documents requiring stylized formats and lettering or graphics using specialized software. Proofreads and edits materials for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Answers, screens, and routes calls and greets and directs visitors and staff. Receives, screens and drafts responses to correspondence. Provides routine information within scope of knowledge and authority.
  • Assists in organizing and scheduling conferences, seminars and other programs or events. Reserves meeting locations, orders supplies and equipment and prepares agenda. Prepares travel arrangements.
 
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
