We’re searching for a Senior Manager, Fleet Maintenance Operations based in Dallas, Texas.

This role is accountable for maximizing the utilization and uptime of our fleet—autonomous and auxiliary vehicles, trailers, and assets—and defining the long-term strategic framework for how that maintenance is delivered. You will guide the organization's shift to support both development and scaled commercial operations, with a specific focus on establishing and governing our Third Party Maintenance (TPM) strategy.

In this role, you will

Strategy & Leadership

  • Maximize fleet utilization and uptime for all assets (autonomous vehicles, trailers, auxiliary assets).
  • Lead, manage, and grow a geographically disparate team of operations professionals and technicians.
  • Establish and drive the strategy supporting the commercial delivery of our logistics service, solving for the present while guiding the future.
  • Handle emergency situations with composure and make frequent pragmatic, safety-based and efficiency-based judgment calls.
  • Translate company priorities into discrete, actionable goals, driving their effective implementation.

Third Party Maintenance (TPM) & Execution

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for the organization's TPM strategy and maintenance operations.
  • Develop the repeatable framework for selecting, onboarding, and integrating new TPM providers.
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contract terms align with operational needs.
  • Own the efficient implementation of service and maintenance for the entire fleet, including the Aurora Driver kits, using internal staff or third-party vendors.
  • Actively manage the TPM governance framework, monitor vendor performance against SLAs, and manage vendor finances (billing, cost forecasting).
  • Act as the central escalation point for significant operational issues related to TPM, driving rapid resolution.
  • Develop, track, and improve metrics for service uptime, reliability, and asset utilization.

Process & Compliance

  • Identify key areas of inefficiency, establish best practices, and create & implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Safety, Product) to ensure critical field feedback is effectively communicated.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading and motivating an operations team through significant change and high customer expectations.
  • Experience working in a highly technical environment, including experience managing technicians and reliability engineers.
  • Experience working in the remote support model (Supporting users/fleet from a remote location).
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and empathize with a disparate population of employees working 24/7/365.
  • Strong ability to communicate succinctly and effectively to various global audiences, from engineers to partners to C-level executives.
  • Master collaborator—unflappable with impeccable attention to detail and organization, ability to influence, motivate, and generate goodwill with teammates while juggling multiple projects at once.
  • Strong ownership and bias for action. Able to work independently to drive progress.
  • Experience building project plans and roadmaps with clear dependency management.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-growth tech, logistics, or aviation industry.
  • Experience leveraging learning management tools and/or business intelligence tools.
