The role:
The New Business Development Team is recruiting a Senior Advisor, International Talent reporting to the Director of New Business Development. The Senior Advisor, International Talent leads the development, delivery, and coordination of recruitment services for all proposals as a part of the International Development Division’s (IDD) New Business Development team. The position will be located in either EDC office locations in Waltham, MA or Washington, DC, full-time telecommuting also available.

The Senior Advisor, International Talent sits within the New Business Development team and provides high-level support and leadership to ensure continuity, compliance, and efficiency in recruitment within new business development initiatives. This individual will be responsible for leading the recruitment process, including developing recruitment strategies, setting priorities, and representing EDC in recruitment and resource management both internally and externally to international and local partners and individual candidates alike.
You will:
Sourcing and Networking:
- Source and network through traditional and progressive methods to identify and source talent; recommend creative and alternative advertising venues and strategies; track and report on effectiveness.
- Develop strategies, and explore and develop sources, particularly with regard to social media, job boards, internet sourcing, and other means to attract appropriate candidates for open jobs and diversify the candidate pool.
- Build and maintain ongoing candidate pipelines and expand candidate channels for all proposal key positions through research, attending industry events, and developing sustainable relationships with top talent.
- Develop and maintain relationships and recruit, interview, hire and manage casual employees and/or other recruiting staff to support recruiting efforts.
- Increase EDC’s external visibility with potential candidates through participation in events such as job fairs and other activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party recruitment agencies and consultants as necessary.
- Collaborate with Proposal Managers to develop staffing strategy for Key and named personnel positions in proposals.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to oversee and enhance the applicant tracking system and the career website.
Recruitment:
- Actively participate in new business planning/forecasting meetings to stay abreast of a new programmatic developments, directions, and potential locations.
- Write and/or review position descriptions, scopes of work, and external job announcements.
- Manage the timely collection, verification, and editing of all recruitment related proposal submission materials including CVs, biographical data forms, and letters of commitment.
- Conduct and/or manage reference checks, negotiate salary and/or consultant rates, benefits and allowances within proposal budget, EDC policy and donor regulations.
- Work with Proposal Cost Manager and HR on proposal budget formulation to include country specific allowances, benefits and salary data.
- Partner with Proposal Cost Manager, HR and Proposal Manager to develop competitive, equitable and implementable salary strategies at proposal stage, assisting with classifying staff positions within the salary scale.
