Field Application Engineer - Analog Testing

Responsibilities
Field Applications Engineers will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities. These include:
- Create techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge electronic components, focused on Power discrete and Linear products.
- Design analog and digital interfaces to implement switching, filtering, signal conversion, and other functions, using Teradyne platforms.
- Develop application board designs to address new or enhanced customer requirements.
- Write and debug test programs in C/C++ for analog, linear and power discrete applications.
- Support and deliver customer demonstration programs and presentations.
- Reproduce/evaluate customer issues for software/hardware engineering to correct and provide interim solutions.
- Provide remote support to customer inquiries, questions, and complex problems, via hotline support.
- Travel to customer locations to provide on-site consultation and support customer product acceptance. Total travel requirements may be 25% or greater.
- Participate in customer account teams and is expected to perform roles as the liaison between Teradyne and customer.
- Develop strong working relationships with the factory teams, marketing, sales, and engineering groups.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Must have strong hands-on hardware experience using lab equipment, such as: digital multimeter, High Speed Oscilloscopes and Waveform generators.
- Must have strong hardware design skills.
- Must have strong programming experience in C/C++.
- Must have strong analytical skills and practical problem-solving skills.
- Must be a team player and able to maintain professional decorum with peers and customers in a highly variable production/engineering environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, including a strong command of Business English (B2 or higher, verbal and writing).
- Must be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Must be able to travel outside of Costa Rica, including the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. This includes the ability to qualify for entry Visas into foreign countries. Total travel requirements may be 25% or greater.
- Experience with ATE equipment particularly Eagle test systems is highly desired.
- Experience in Discrete, High-Power Modules, or Linear devices is highly desired.
- High power AC testing experience is a plus.
Education
Candidates must have a BS degree in either Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience or equivalent.
