As a Product Engineer – Surgical Solutions located in Maplewood, MN, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Contributing to innovative projects that have a direct impact on improving patient outcomes and healthcare solutions.
Maintaining and improving the product design for a specific set of cutting edge, commercialized medical device/drug combination products in Solventum’s Surgical Solutions business.
Initiating, leading, and executing projects that positively impact quality, cost, performance, service, customer expectations, and growth for assigned product portfolios.
Taking on leadership roles in projects and collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams to drive results.
Integrating new products into sustaining operations by participating with New Project Introduction (NPI) teams during Scale Up through design ownership transfer.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND two (2) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment.
OR
High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND six (6) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Demonstrated leadership designing and/or maintaining commercialized medical device/drug combination products under ISO 13485:2016 & FDA 21 CFR part 820 compliance or similar regulations.
Project Management leadership and/or certifications.
Proven examples of successfully collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions on past projects.
Statistical knowledge and practice of using data to drive product improvements [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Lean Six Sigma, etc.].
Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) and Microsoft systems proficiency.
Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 2 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic / international travel
