Position Summary: The Digital Communications Strategist will be an integral member of the team and will help lead online communications for the DCCC. The ideal candidate will have previous campaign and/or Capitol Hill experience and possess a high degree of organization. Responsibilities Include:
- Produce organic content & programming on the DCCC's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube channels, including rapid response and evergreen content.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new digital media strategies - demonstrating an understanding of the fluid nature of digital communications and platforms.
- Develop content for Digital Tipsheets and Toolkits to be dispersed amongst Democratic House campaigns, influencers, and relevant digital partners.
- Identify opportunities for digital growth and implement those strategies.
- Work in tandem with the DCCC’s in-house Creative Team on long-term and short-term multimedia projects, often with an eye toward using those projects to garner earned media in competitive districts.
- Work with members of the Digital Communications & Creative teams to engage influencers as it relates to the House battlefield.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- 2-3 years of either communications or digital storytelling experience. Understanding of strategic messaging and strong writing skills for all social platforms.
- Fluency in a wide variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, YouTube and TikTok.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft social copy quickly for rapid response purposes.
- Experience in video editing and graphic design are a plus.
