The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the planning, promotion, and delivery of Continuing Education (CE) programs. This role combines event coordination with strategic communications to engage alumni, faculty, and external stakeholders!

The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the planning, promotion, and delivery of Continuing Education (CE) programs. This role combines event coordination with strategic communications to engage alumni, faculty, and external stakeholders!

Job Duties:

  • Assist with CE coordination, alumni events, and outreach event logistics.
  • Draft and distribute CE communications; maintain CE website and registration portal.
  • Coordinate CE event logistics (venues, catering, AV, signage, parking, and serve as main contact.
  • Manage CE registration, speaker materials, course preparation, attendance tracking and CE credit compliance.
  • Support CE calendar development, marketing, budgeting, and payments.
  • Supervise student workers assisting with CE.
  • Create content for newsletters, social media, website, and brochures; assist with website edits.
  • Support internal communications and coordinate promotional materials with media teams.

Salary:  $59,921 to commensurate (Pay Grade:  4A)

Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

     Will require some work outside of designated business hours

 

Qualifications

 

REQUIRES:

·         Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

·         1-year relevant professional experience coordinating events or educational programs.

·         Demonstrated experience with project coordination/logistics, managing deadlines, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service and effectively engage with stakeholders.
