Pay Range

Hiring Range: $59,675 - $71,614 Annually 

Pay Range: $59,675 - $83,553 Annually

Join our team as a Data Analyst II and take your data expertise to the next level. In this role, you will lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives, develop advanced reports and dashboards, and provide insights that directly influence strategic decision-making. You will also support the Asset Control Manager in ensuring data integrity, streamlining processes, and guiding operational planning, as well as training and mentoring Data Analyst I team members. Essential Functions:

  • Supports departmental decision-making by developing business intelligence solutions that align with strategic goals;

  • Leads or contributes to cross-functional data initiatives that impact multiple units within the department;

  • Designs and maintains analytics dashboards and reports used across the department to monitor performance and outcomes;

  • Develops and enforces data quality protocols, including SQL-based validation reports, to ensure departmental data integrity;

  • Conducts complex data analysis using multiple systems to support operational planning, policy development, and resource allocation;

  • Evaluates and tests system upgrades and database applications to ensure they meet evolving departmental needs and standards;

  • Administers department-wide databases, managing access controls, code tables, and data governance procedures;

  • Establishes and promotes standards for data definitions, reporting conventions, and database support across the department;

  • Provides training and technical guidance to departmental staff and external partners to enhance data literacy and usage;

  • Coordinates with internal teams and external agencies to maintain secure, efficient, and compliant data systems for departmental operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, or technical trade school with a major in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems (MIS), or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment, AND two years of data/business analysis or related technical experience.

OR:

One year of experience with Pima County as Data Analyst I or another closely related position performing data/business analysis or related technical work as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
