Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Projects a positive image of the Company and colleagues at client negotiations, conferences, technical meetings, and within the office
- Signs letters, proposals, and reports bearing professional stamp (if applicable) and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company
- Signs Geotechnology’s standard contract terms. Clients’ contract forms and/or modifications of Geotechnology’s standard contract terms must be approved by a corporate officer
- Responsible for work assigned to the Branch regarding professional liability and contractual obligations. All technical work must be conducted so that the standard of care is met
- Deals directly with clients and prospective clients in business development, proposals, contracts or agreements, and technical matters
- Provides guidance, training, and instruction to subordinates in regulatory, technical, and administrative aspects of environmental, geotechnical, or construction materials testing consulting
- Plans Branch strategy in conjunction with Group Managers to meet Company goals
- Responsible for costs of the Branch and adherence to Branch budgets and utilization goals. In conjunction with the Program and Project Manager, is responsible for budget control on projects
- Responsible for the profitability of projects assigned to the Branch
- Counsels and reviews work of project teams; evaluates Project Managers’ and Staff’s performance
- Surveys marketplace to identify both new clients and new markets for Company services
- Plans and supervises Staff Development program
- Motivates subordinates to accept increasing responsibility and develops viable candidates for Project Management
- Prepares performance evaluations for direct staff and reviews performance evaluation data for others in the Branch with assigned supervisors prior and subsequent to evaluation meeting

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering roles for which five years are in project management and supervisory responsibilities
- Professional Engineering License required or can be obtained within 6 months
