Your Role as Assistant Principal:
- Staff & School Operations Support – Assist in supervising staff and daily school operations, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Documentation Oversight – Ensure proper maintenance of educational and counseling records.
- Regulatory Compliance – Support scheduling and program development aligned with VDOE regulations and accreditation standards.
- Student Support & Programming – Oversee treatment planning and support appropriate class placements based on assessments.
- Curriculum & Resources – Provide guidance on curriculum development and ensure access to necessary materials and equipment.
- Family & Community Communication – Report student progress to special education directors, parents, and community partners.
- Transportation Oversight – Support transportation scheduling, safety, and vehicle maintenance.
- Agency Collaboration – Coordinate with outside agencies to enhance student services and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education and/or School Administration with Supervision Endorsement.
- Minimum of three years working with students with disabilities.
- One year of administrative experience in a special education setting (preferred).
- Valid or eligible VDOE Postgraduate Professional Teaching License with endorsement in School Administration & Supervision or Special Education.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
- Mandt certification.
