What You Can Expect in This Role:

As a Residential Care Team Member, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of children and teens living in our therapeutic residential facility. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes healing, growth, and emotional development.

A typical day might include:

• Supporting residents in their daily routines, including hygiene, meals, schoolwork, and recreation.

• Participating in and sometimes leading therapeutic and recreational group activities.

• Observing and documenting behaviors and interactions for the clinical team.

• Administering medications (after completing required training and certification).

• Transporting residents to appointments or activities using a Meritus vehicle.

• De-escalating behavioral issues using non-violent crisis intervention techniques.

• Working closely with clinicians, nurses, and other care team members to implement treatment plans.

What Can Be Challenging:

• Physical Activity: The role requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional bending or reaching. You’ll need to be active and alert throughout your shift.

• Certification and Compliance: You must maintain CPR/BLS certification, complete training (including medication tech and crisis prevention), and pass background checks, health screenings, and driving record reviews.

Qualifications to Join Our Team:

Required:

• 21+ years of age

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver’s license

• Background check, CPS clearance, drug screening, physical exam

• Willingness to complete all required training and certifications

Preferred:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field

• Previous experience working with youth in a residential or behavioral health setting

• Medication Technician certification (or willingness to earn it
