The First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Cloud Network Administrator in the Infrastructure department. The Cloud Network Administrator works as part of an Infrastructure Team responsible for our cloud network environments. The main duties of a cloud administrator involve working closely with the IT department to design and maintain cloud, Windows, Linux, and other infrastructures. This position will work closely with all other teams to optimize performance and security on our infrastructure, and to assist incident management in the production environments.
Position will be based out of the Indianapolis, IN office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of FDB Cloud production and pre-production infrastructure, ensuring systems availability, performance, capacity, and continuity through proper response to incidents, events, and problems
- Work in unison with Infrastructure Manager and Development teams to gather requirements, design and develop, from the ground up, a reliable and scalable infrastructure using cloud automation tools for AWS and/or Azure.
- Install & Troubleshoot - The cloud systems administrator will install and configure the operating system in cloud IaaS providers. The individual is also the go-to person to resolve and help with system problems. The professional looks into the configuration and network security of the systems to make sure they are working correctly and they are up-to-date. It is also the administrator’s responsibility to manage and upgrade operating systems.
- Implement & Integrate - The administrator usually monitors and analyzes the capabilities and performance of the systems. They compare, evaluate, and implement new technologies, and integrate systems into the computing environment. For the convenience of users, it is the administrator’s responsibility to document systems infrastructure.
- Security & Strategies - A cloud systems administrator should assist with cloud server configurations, patches, and troubleshooting as needed. They also help to maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Great Expertise - As a requirement, the cloud systems administrator should have a working knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, and other Windows-based technologies.
- The ability to configure VMs and Web Applications is an added advantage.
- Problem Solving - Cloud professionals may encounter several challenges related to installation, maintenance, deployment, migration, operation and performance.
- Strong logical reasoning, troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills can help them manage these challenges promptly
- Incident management and root cause analysis
- Performs support and cross training for peers and operations staff as required
- Document processes and procedures for all tasks performed
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure tools
- Linux administration/knowledge - CentOS, Ubuntu
- Windows Server OS, Win10/11 experience
- Familiarity with server monitoring
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Basic networking - TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, VPN Tunnels
- IT Security best practices
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- 5+ years of professional IT experience with expertise in networks and server infrastructure
- Cloud certifications or fundamental knowledge preferred – AWS and Azure
- Expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration.
