Security Engineer, Security Operations

As a member of the Security Operations team, you will play a critical role in protecting Cruise’s data and systems from cyberattacks. You will work closely with several of Security’s closest stakeholders to design, build and implement security solutions that address some of Cruise’s most pressing security needs.
Some of the specific initiatives you’ll be supporting include:

Identifying and securing sensitive data from unauthorized access across Cruise’s SaaS services

Enforcing access control across Cruise’s contingent worker user base

Securing Cruise’s use of service accounts

Rolling out state of the art foundational security capabilities like enterprise password management and secure third party data transfer
What you’ll be doing:

Joining a team of engineers dedicated to keeping the company secure through the ownership and operation of several security critical services, like data loss prevention and endpoint detection and response

Working closely with stakeholders to secure Cruise’s use of service accounts across their entire lifecycle

Working closely with IT to prevent bypass of security controls and embedding security into the contingent worker onboarding process

Stewarding a portfolio of foundational security controls and services, including Duo MFA, Google Workspace, Cisco ISE and enterprise password management and others.

Analyzing and improving the security and stability of business applications and in-house systems

Creating delightful user experiences and interactions with security
What you must have:
-
Experience with one or more modern programming languages (Go, Python, etc), and the ability to pass a coding interview

Familiarity with IAM tooling and strategies
-
Familiarity with endpoint security tooling and strategies
-
Experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP
-
Experience driving high-visibility, high-impact security projects to completion

Action oriented, analytical, troubleshooter, problem solver, motivator

First principles and a data-driven approach to making incremental changes

Contributions to community projects (open source, public research, blogging,

Experience driving data loss prevention and identity access management controls

Infectious enthusiasm for automation, building scalable services, and enabling engineering through security

Experience with email security, access control management, logging, and PKI

The salary range for this position is $110,200 - $161,900. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
