Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work. 

Job Description

We Are:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team at MSK is comprised of over 900 Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cancer care.  Are you ready to join a collaborative team and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families?

 

 

The ICU APP role includes management of medical and surgical Critical Care Medicine patients within the 20 bed Intensive Care Unit as well as on the Critical Care Medicine Consult service throughout main campus (1275 York). APPs in this role will regularly practice outside of ICU as independent Rapid Response and Medical Code Team leaders in addition to Sepsis Alert and Critical Care Medicine consult providers.   In addition to patient assessment,  diagnosis, developing treatment plan, presenting in rounds and prescribing the APPs are expected to become competent in advanced procedure privileges including central line placement and removal; arterial line placement and point of care ultrasound.  This role requires critical thinking and decision making while working well in a dynamic team-based environment.    

 

Hours: Night Shift 7p-7:30a 12.5 hours

Night shift commitment is for the first two years on service

*Advanced Practice Providers in the ICU receive a critical care reward payment bi-weekly*

 

You Are:

You Will:

  • Collaborate with physicians and team members to deliver outstanding cancer care for our ICU patients
  • Ensure the delivery of quality care and cultivate an environment that centers around the needs of our patients and their families
  • Serve as a clinical authority and resource providing education and consultation to healthcare team members
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, implementation of patient education, and clinical support programs

You Have:

  • Master’s in Nursing or degree from an accredited PA program
  • New York State (NYS) RN & AGCNP licenses or NYS PA license (active or eligible to apply)
  • Related National NP certification or PA certification
  • 2+ years of related clinical experience. Previous ICU, Critical Care, or experience treating high acuity patients highly preferred
  • BLS certification and DEA Certificate 

Pay Range $136,000K - 180,000K #LI-POST! #LI-Onsite
