Your key responsibilities

 

As a Senior Consultant, you will be working on a range of different client engagements in the role of VAT Controller. Within this role you will manage the VAT/GST compliance for the entities/countries assigned to you, including:

  • Acting as a single point of contact – liaise with your international clients and colleagues regarding European VAT and VAT compliance.
  • Monitoring the quality of the indirect tax data and reports of your clients.
  • Review and approve indirect tax returns.
  • Follow up on legislative changes and business changes and the potential impacts on systems and processes.
  • Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the VAT compliance processes.
  • Coordinate VAT compliance advisory, technology and audit support.
  • Working with fellow VAT controllers, reporting to your engagement Process Owner (Manager or above).
  • Supervise and coach more junior team members – both on and offshore.
  • Actively participate in training and coaching sessions as a part of your personal development plan to ensure continuous development.

 To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • A Bachelor/master’s degree in economics or equivalent, potentially with a supplementary degree in fiscal matters
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in EMEIA VAT compliance, either in industry or with other service providers
  • Basic understanding of other compliance activities such as statutory accounting and corporate tax compliance
  • Basic understanding of IT-systems and VAT/GST reporting solutions
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken. Any additional European language is an asset
