Job Description

Position Summary:

The part-time Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon will provide clinical, educational, and hospital-based services within the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MUSC. The position supports both predoctoral and resident education, faculty practice operations, and hospital-based surgical coverage at the University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide supervision and instruction to dental students and residents in clinical and operative settings.

· Participate in attending practice activities within the Section’s faculty practice.

· Share in the on-call schedule for coverage of oral and maxillofacial surgery services at MUSC University Hospital.

· Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with institutional policies and professional standards.

· Contribute to the academic mission of the Section through mentorship, collaboration, and engagement in scholarly or educational initiatives.

Qualifications:

· DMD/DDS from a CODA accredited dental school or foreign equivalent

· Completion of a CODA accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency or foreign equivalent

· Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

· Eligible for dental and hospital privileges at MUSC.
