Operations and Middle Office (Technical) Summer Intern

Our Technical Operations and Middle Office teams are responsible for the P&L reporting, valuations, and trade capture, and trade support for the firm. The team works closely with risk management, treasury, operations, accounting, and IT and is also the primary point of contact for portfolio managers and senior management questions.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and work closely with teams across Ops, IT, Legal, Compliance and Finance departments globally as needed and with external parties to deliver projects, regulatory reports, and control frameworks
- Gain an understanding and knowledge of operations and markets and the lifecycle of trades across all asset classes (Equities Commodities, Fx, Rates, etc.)
- Obtain an understanding of the firm's P&L and risk systems
- Responsible for supporting special projects and tasks across multiple areas in the Operations/ Middle Office departments
- Assist with the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures
- Automate any reporting processes through the development of VBA/SQL/Python solutions and/or Tableau Dashboards
- Reporting on metrics spanning the trade lifecycle including trade volumes, trade edits, matching, settlement, and positions/balances
- Run data analytics to identify trends and gaps, devise formal governance over recurring issues and provide vital analysis and documentation for Ops Management
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Rising juniors and seniors who are interested in a future career at a top-tier alternative asset financial services first
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and detail-oriented
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to any situation quickly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Coding (VBA/Python, etc.) preferred but not required
The estimated annual salary for this position is $100,000-$150,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role.
