An Electronics Repair Operator is a highly skilled technician responsible for all rework, repairs, for production and return units from customers. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electronics, advanced soldering, wiring and assembly skills,. Incumbent to be organized and posses the ability to manage the entire assembly and repair process.

What You Will Do:

  • Precision Soldering and Rework: Expertly perform through-hole wiring, crimping and surface mount technology (SMT) soldering and desoldering on densely populated circuit boards. This includes working with fine-pitch components under a microscope with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Box Build Assembly: Perform box build operations, which involve the full system integration of electronic components into a finished product. This includes mounting PCBs, installing wiring harnesses and cables, assembling mechanical parts, and integrating sub-assemblies into a final enclosure.
  • Formal Coat/Potting Application: Apply a conformal coating to electronic components and PCBs. This protective chemical layer is used to safeguard against environmental stressors like moisture, dust, and temperature fluctuations, requiring careful application to avoid compromising functionality. You will need to have knowledge on Potting (RTV) for disassembling fix the short, change a component, etc and repair, pot unit.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all repair activities, including the diagnosis performed, components replaced, and tests conducted. Prepare comprehensive repair reports and work instructions for other technicians and Engineering.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • IPC Certification: Certifications such as IPC J-STD-001 for Soldering and IPC-7711/7721 for Rework and Repair
  • Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills to tackle complex, non-routine technical problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
