THE ROLE      

   

The Sr. Director, NIA & Product Development is a senior member of the strategic and cross-functional planning team, overseeing the development and delivery of the New Innovative Assets (NIA) initiative for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role will serve as the primary lead for the design, development, strategic direction, and operational execution of the NIA program as well as hospitality products in general . This role will collaborate with internal and external constituents to strategize, plan, manage, and deliver an optimal guest experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Lead strategic planning and operational management of NIA program, coordinating with functional areas—such as product, sales, marketing, finance, accommodations, transportation, and workforce operations—to ensure budget alignment, clear and effective guest communication, high service standards, and effective reporting.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive operational framework for NIA concept development that aligns with market demands and sales targets.
  • Drive innovation by collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure NIA concepts are relevant, scalable, and strategically positioned for maximum impact for On Location and its clients.
  • Provide NIA and other Special Projects leadership with respect to team hiring, setting goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with product team leads to develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies that enhance the NIA Olympic guest experience.
  • Develop service plans that align with NIA customer expectations and product level, focusing on guest journey and experience.
  • Provide leadership and support as required during LA28 marketing partner events, Organizing Committee meetings, RFPs and other key stakeholder planning initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication and information sharing across functional areas (FAs) and manage ongoing program updates and changes.
  • Prepare and distribute event materials, presentations, and communication for both internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Team on data reports, itinerary building required for operational program delivery.
  • Facilitate relationships with the IOC, International Sport Federations, LA28, vendors, suppliers, client leads, and functional areas, driving program progress as needed.
  • Develop and implement best practices, operational efficiencies for program management and successful execution of NIA experiences
  • Support contract negotiations to secure venue use for NIA Olympics and Paralympics program-related needs.
  • Identify and track opportunities to improve quality across all NIA offerings and throughout the overall guest journey.
  • Develop the NIA program management operational budget, aligning with service standards and product budgets while allowing scalability based on sales.
  • Oversee financial aspects, including program management operational budget management and post-event reconciliations for NIA and Special Projects.
  • Lead NIA staffing strategy and planning, ensuring the right talent is in place for Olympic and Paralympic program execution.
