About Baytown

 

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

Provide technical support, advice on product fitness for use, and new applications to support existing and new customers of ExxonMobil's Polypropylene, Vistamaxx™, Exact™ business in Canada, USA, and Mexico.

 

Role will be based in Baytown, TX
 

What you will do

 

• Provide technical support to ExxonMobil's customers converting polypropylene and other propylene and ethylene copolymer resin into finished products.
• Support trials at customers and at the Baytown Technology and Engineering Center.
• Utilize technical expertise and knowledge of ExxonMobil products to identify new opportunities for resin sales.
• Support and lead new application development projects through stages of commercialization and help establish and validate the value proposition.
• Interface with manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, internal labs, and external customers.
• Provide knowledge of product and performance requirements in support of manufacturing efficiency and quality projects. Provide technical training to customers and ExxonMobil personnel.
• Present technical papers at industry conferences and customer seminars.

 

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

• Minimum BS in Polymer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent specialization.
• 10-15 years of experience in polyolefin resin formulation and injection molding production.
• Ability to travel 40-60% of the time, sometimes with short notice.
• Demonstrated organizational skills complimented by a sense of ownership, initiative, and adaptability.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships and help our customers succeed.

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

• Advanced Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent specialization.
• Experience in process troubleshooting as well as polymer resin, product and analytical test methods.
• Demonstrated experience in polymer structure properties.
• Experience in Chemical analytical tools in polymers.
• Demonstrated experience in plastic extrusion fabrication.
