We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Sign Production Specialist to join our team. This role involves setting up files and operating various production machinery to create high-quality signs. The specialist will handle tasks such as:
- Operating Machines: Roll-to-roll printers, laminators, application tables, engravers, CNC routers, flatbed printers, and UV build-up printers.
- Production Tasks: Setting up and preparing files for print, lamination, application, and finishing processes.
- Create computer-generated graphics and vinyl output for printing and application.
- Complete or modify designs based on customer drawings or digital files for media output.
- Arrange layout, type style, and copy considering space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
- Inspect jobs for accuracy and ensure correct materials and device settings are used.
- Prepare substrates by cutting, painting, laminating, and cleaning.
- Weed excess vinyl from images using various techniques based on size, type, and complexity.
- Operate and maintain all machinery including plotters and routers.
- Perform quality assurance checks pre- and post-production, interpreting work orders and proofing for errors.
- Execute finishing operations like laminating and mounting printed pieces.
- Monitor and report inventory levels for reordering.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas.
- 1-2 years of experience in sign production is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods (4+ hours) and lift 50+ pounds.
- Flexibility for tasks requiring leaning and repetitive hand motions.
- Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
- Skill in determining output methods based on customer needs.
- Comfort with viewing a computer screen for extended periods (4+ hours).
- Capability to work under pressure, delivering high volume, high-quality work.
- Proficiency with light power equipment.
