Starting Pay: $$22.00 - 23.00/hour
The Holiday Inn at the Portland Airport features 285 guest suites and 13,500 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is located less than a mile from the Portland International Airport, seven miles from downtown Portland, and nine miles from downtown Vancouver. The hotel has convenient access to Tri-met bus lines reaching the suburban areas of metro-Portland.
Work Performed:
Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.
The Cook assists in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. The Cook will maintain a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production level for the Kitchen staff.

Your Role:
To develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods
Have the opportunity to grow skills in using professional kitchen equipment
Recreate menu items for restaurant and banquets
Develop consistency in cooking and presentation
Minimize food waste through cross utilization
Setup workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking
Use standard practices in kitchen sanitization
Store all food and other items properly
Qualifications:
Food handler’s certification
ServSafe certification a plus
OLCC License a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Must be willing to work a variety of day/evening and weekend shifts
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to work independently
Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
Able to lift at least 50 pounds
Have a desire to exceed expectations
