About the role:

As a full-stack Software Engineer on Samsara’s Worker Safety team, you will design and develop a new product across a broad surface area, driving impact to current and future customers. You’ll own solving engineering challenges ranging from architecting different parts of a new system to delivering performant user features on both web and mobile.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada and the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will: 

• Work with product managers, designers, and engineers from various teams to architect, build, test, and deliver a new product across front-end, back-end, and mobile 
• Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of our new product
• Propose technical solutions and spearhead technical solutioning on some of the team’s initiatives
• Help mentor, develop, and support other engineers on the team
• Maintain a regular feedback loop to allow for implementation iterations and making adjustments
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
• Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Javascript, React, React Native
• Experience with Mobile development 
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions

An ideal candidate also has:

• AWS knowledge and expertise
• Experience in native Mobile development
• Experience delivering a new product
• Understanding our users and what would make their day-to-day processes easier to manage
• A love for shipping features that are immediately used by our customers
