What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary target range we are looking to offer is between $73,000 - $96,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least 3 days a week and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. This position is programmed as a position eligible for reporting in a hybrid work environment including reporting in office at WorldPort offices and reporting remotely. Note, as this is a fast-paced, dynamic environment, business needs may dictate more in-office time than the minimum.
What You’ll Do
- Perform full performance professional work to administer expenditure contracts for professional services and construction in support of complex capital programs, within the Special Projects division at DEN. This includes monitoring programmatic and project level budgets and expenditures, in conjunction with contract spend and financial system of record, potentially for multiple programs. The position will interact with contractors and designers, construction and design project managers, DEN Finance & Accounting, Business Management Services, Risk Management, Prevailing Wage, and other stakeholder divisions as needed.
Job responsibilities include:
- Draft and process task orders, task order change orders and other change orders for appropriate review, approval, requisition and encumbrance. This includes all necessary contract compliance as relates to applicability, mark up, fees, etc. as well as financial system due diligence, fiscal oversight, and adherence to typical business processes such as fiscal rule regarding supporting documentation.
- Performing financial system closeout of contracts or purchase orders. This duty may also include any reporting with grantors necessary regarding any of the above details. Successful and timely processing of Invoices including coordinating with Project Managers or project leads, pencil copy process, review, and analysis of invoices, drafting justifications and budget memos as required, processing within any applicable software, submitting invoices in a timely manner to ensure vendors are paid promptly.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies, perform research, analysis, reporting and obtain customer feedback to ensure improvements are effectively applied to administration business processes.
- Day-to-day interpretation, analysis, and research of contractual terms and compliance.
- Engaging in cost review meetings with DEN team and relevant contracted entities.
- Performing document management duties according to program specific requirements.
