Department Overview
Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. 

Electric Operations Construction Management is responsible for the construction, project and contract management of PG&E’s electric distribution overhead and underground facilities. 

 

Position Summary
The Electric Operations Manager of Visual Management oversees a team of Analysts, Visual Designers, Database Designers, and may oversee other positions. The work group may consist of all regular employees, contractors or both and is responsible for managing electric capital construction and/or maintenance projects throughout service territory.  

 

The incumbent will oversee all PG&E’s service territory for the EO Constrcution Management organization.  The leader will promote a safety culture and ensure staff adhere to all company and regulatory safety practices and policies.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  

 

We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 
A reasonable salary range is: 


1.    Minimum:   $159,000
2.    Midpoint:    $215,000
3.    Maximum:   $271,000
 
Job Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of primarily Analysts, Designers, & Principals in the successful execution of electric maintenance, construction, capacity & reliability capital projects. Manages cost, safety, quality, schedule, scope & client/customer satisfaction. Seeks process improvement opportunities to reduce duplication of effort, improve work quality.  
  • Works with peers and leaders across Electric Operations to promote teamwork, streamline processes and improve efficiency.  Effectively manages both the capital project portfolio for assigned functional area and develops and implements industry-leading project control policies, practices and procedures to ensure high-level quality and transparency in communications.  Leads development of tools and processes to continuously improve management and financial performance.
  • Regularly presents to leaders & stakeholders on project scope, schedule, cost and risk management information.  Develops and delivers recommendations to improve processes, schedules and/or cost performance of projects. Continuously strives to move the department toward a more mature Lean model to improve effectiveness.
  • May participate as a member of the Incident Command structure during times of significant events, such as storms, earthquakes, etc. Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition. 
  • May manage both union and non-union employees. Direct reports may include Supervisors, Analysts, Project Coordinators or Assistants, Contractors, Engineers.  

 

Qualifications
Minimum:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
•    Ten Plus (10+) years of total related experience in project/program management experience

Desired
•    Master’s degree in engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
•    Experience in utility construction, 5 years
•    Experience in project management, electric utility, 5 years
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent
