Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity as Health & Safety Specialist for our Onshore Wind Assets in the Netherlands. You will be able to provide safe operations and become an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall towards a fossil free future!

In our department we support the Onshore BU in strengthening the required H&S commitment and culture to become the #1 renewables developer and operator, by supporting and building an effective H&S Management Systems to enable a high performing organization.

That is why we are now looking to hire a H&S Specialist to provide operational support to our team in the Netherlands across our wind portfolio.

What will you do? 
As H&S Specialist you will be working both as part of a team and independently, your main role will be to give independent, authoritative advice and support, to ensure H&S compliance in support of the Onshore wind Operations and Asset management department.
 
Your tasks and responsibilities: 

• Give independent advice (wanted/unwanted) and support the project team on implementation of the BA Wind H&S Management System in accordance with ISO 45001;
• Support and coach operations teams and managers to fulfil their H&S responsibilities and increase H&S awareness and leadership;
• Monitor legislation concerning design / machine directive / permits, etc.
• Ensure accidents/incidents are reported and investigated in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements;
• Carry out and contribute to internal/external H&S inspections, audits and safety assessments when required and on completion provide written reports;
• Support the Onshore unit to continually improve their H&S culture, leadership and performance.

Location  
The location of this position is Amsterdam office, regular site visits and business trips are required.

Qualifications

Who are you? 
As you will be supporting a multi-disciplined team you will need the ability to influence on both team and management level, build relations, understand the business, manage expectations & facilitate decisions. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently when required.

As our H&S Specialist you will bring:

• At least 5 years relevant experience in working in the Wind industry with focus on Health & Safety and/or in a high hazard industry such as construction / power industry. 
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification and VCA certification.
• Proactive and ability to function fully independently.
• Ability to advise and support projects to ensure high H&S standards.
• Good communication skills both verbally and written in Dutch and English.
• GWO certification relevant to Onshore wind
