Who are we looking for?

This position is a part of MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions (MAES) R&D team and is responsible for leading pilot‑scale laboratory operations for nanomaterial synthesis, while coordinating closely with the global process engineering team to support technology transfer to full‑scale production. The primary focus is to optimize and scale up new nanomaterial processes and generate high‑quality technical data. The position also includes maintaining pilot‑scale equipment, ensuring compliance and documentation readiness, and presenting technical findings to internal stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Lead pilot plant operations and coordinate with the team in setting up, running, troubleshooting, and maintaining reactors and related processing equipment.
  • Plan and execute DOEs for pilot-scale nanoparticle synthesis batches, including precursor preparation, reaction control, purification, stabilization, and drying.
  • Ensure safe working practices, compliance with EHS requirements, and implementation of structured workplace methodologies (e.g., 5S).
  • Conduct and evaluate risk and reliability assessments such as PHA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and FMEA to identify potential failure modes and drive preventive actions.
  • Prepare and maintain batch records, equipment logs and test documentation in accordance with organizational quality standards.
  • Present technical findings, data interpretations, and recommendations to R&D teams, cross-functional departments, and other stakeholders
  • Draft, review, and update SOPs, PFDs, analytical methods, test procedures, and technical work instructions.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale instruments to ensure measurement reliability and operational readiness. Analyze process data to improve yield, reproducibility, scalability, and product consistency. 
  • Investigate process deviations, troubleshoot technical issues, and conduct root cause analysis followed by corrective actions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of raw materials and processes, proprietary formulations, customer requirements, and technical data.

Who are You?

  • BE /BTech in Chemical, Materials, or related engineering discipline with 6–8 years of experience in R&D, pilot production, advanced materials, or process development
  •  ME /MTech in a relevant engineering field with 4–6 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with nanomaterial synthesis, formulation science, or functional materials processing preferred.
