About the Role
From day one you will be driving some of the most critical enterprise-wide initiatives at Aviatrix – building & improving our soaring airplane while in-flight! You will be bringing your experience with best-in-class frameworks and processes for work in-take, prioritization, software product development processes, team management, program planning, problem-solving, decision-making, collaboration, strategic alignment, and innovation. You will help Aviatrix scale with clarity and sane, compassionate collaboration.
Aviatrix is an exciting and chaotic start-up. At this point in our organizational maturity, we are pivoting often and fast. The ideal candidate should expect that their daily activities will be both strategic and tactical in nature and they need to be adept at both since there is no administrative, project management, or scrum master support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Leadership: Communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional program teams, get buy-in, and deliver quality programs on time, scope, and budget.
- Release Management: Drive / orchestrate the 11th hour activities by the cross functional team to release product(s).
- Definition and Requirements Refinement: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather & refine requirements, define program scope, and prioritize deliverables.
- Planning: Develop and maintain program-level plans and schedules, including resources, and dependencies.
- Scheduling: Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs - often managing multiple, time-sensitive and high priority initiatives simultaneously.
- Risk & Issue management: Know when you can handle risks with your teams and when they need to be escalated.
- Transparency: Track and report on program progress, including status updates and KPIs. Publish and maintain program dashboards and drive regular reviews - both Push & Pull.
- Relationship Building: Partner with multiple cross-functional stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment. Build effective relationships and networks that drive action.
- Influence-ability: Empathetically connect and catalyze people within a matrixed-management environment.
- Communication: Simplify complex challenges into pragmatic actionable plans. Be a storyteller and a master at articulating program vision while addressing stakeholders’ needs.
- Coaching: Shape diverse teams into cohesive, high-performing innovation engines. Mentor others on software delivery best practices as needed. You should have the heart of a teacher/coach and be the authority on Program and Project Management methodologies/techniques including Scrum/Kanban, SAFe, Hybrid Product Development, & Waterfall.
- Process Design: Identify and design enterprise-wide processes that increase successful program delivery.
- Change Management: Establish and execute sound and structured change roll-out plans so as to ensure adoption and institutionalization.
- Tools Experience: Establish Jira best practices and hygiene. Be a master ticket wrangler as well as a guru at data visualization with the ability to transform a lot of complex and detailed data into something a 5th grader could understand.
- Reflection and Improvement: All day, every day, have an eye out for what can be improved and make it happen!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience as Program Manager in software, embedded, networking, or new product development.
- 3+ years of experience mentoring others in the program management discipline.
- You are flexible, enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude.
- You are the team player that everyone wants on their team.
- You are entrepreneurial, with a high tolerance for ambiguity, rapid-changes, and complexity
- PMP and CSM preferred.
US Pay Range
The US annual base salary range for this full-time position is $206,500-$228,200 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity.
