Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and cleared Data Engineer to join our team in support of government projects in Reston, VA. This critical role focuses on the development, implementation, and optimization of data-driven solutions and algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Python and PyTorch, experience with Flask, and a solid understanding of REST APIs. A background in statistics and a basic understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate mission needs into technical requirements.

• Triage and troubleshoot data issues.

• Prepare task plans, documentation, and reports on activities.

• Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Manage sensitive data transfer and handling.

• Coordinate with technical teams across organizational boundaries.

• Document and communicate technical and non-technical requirements.

• Plan and coordinate program management activities (e.g., reviews, boards, and meetings).

• Provide support in technical writing, editing, and integration.

• Track and ensure the completion of action items.

• Define user requirements for analysts or operational customers.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.

• Knowledge of Flask with the ability to become proficient quickly.

• Familiarity with REST APIs.

• Background/experience in statistics.

• Basic understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

• Experience in developing, deploying, and evaluating testing and verification methodologies for algorithm performance.

• Experience with NLP, CNNs, LLMs, or foundational models.

• Proficiency in deploying machine learning models on multimedia data.

• Linux System Administration and scripting (bash).

• Android configuration, software development, and interfacing experience.

• Experience with embedded systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
