Job Description

EDC has a contingent opening for a full-time Associate Project Director – Mental Health and Training Specialist, reporting to the Associate Director on the Trauma Recovery, Mental Health Promotion, and Violence Prevention Team in the Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation (HPPI) Portfolio. The person in this position will preferably be based in the Washington, DC metro area, but US-based telecommuters will be considered. This position is contingent on funding availability.

Projects include working with law enforcement, providing technical assistance, training, and consultation focused on building trust with the communities they serve, designing suicide prevention and mental wellness resources, and writing training curricula which incorporate mental health best practices for diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and presenter, an excellent writer, have experience working as or with law enforcement, bring mental health-specific clinical expertise, be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage projects.

You will:

• Work across projects focused on supporting the mental health and resilience-building of law enforcement and first responder communities
• Provide training and technical assistance in the form of consultation, developing and delivering high quality trainings and presentations, both in person and virtually for conferences, webinars, and learning collaboratives
• Work with partners to build relationships, develop resources and resource hubs, and compile best practices in mental health, resilience, and/or police community trust
• Oversee design, production, and dissemination of high-profile trainings and resources including curriculum development and written resource development
• Coordinate significant project management, including tracking of project deliverables, creating timelines, and ensuring teams meet project development and implementation deliverables for a variety of mental health and community-building projects
• Support business development activities, including assisting with proposal development

Qualifications

Education: 

• Clinical Master's Degree

Skills & Experience:

• At least 4 years related clinical experience
• Work experience with law enforcement personnel
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to and communicate with internal stakeholders, groups and senior leadership, as well as communicate across diverse community members, community organizations and government and law enforcement agencies
• Ability to organize individual tasks while managing and prioritizing multiple efforts

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:

• 2-4 years of project management experience (managing timelines, tracking deliverables and/or budgets)
